Home Away From Home

We've arrived!
The trip here was happily uneventful other than learning that Ava has learnt to throw herself on the ground the moment she doesn't feel like doing something.
That was fun.
She got on the plane and chose her own seats. Which were not ours.
She buckled herself into the window seat and was happy as could be.
Until we had to move her to our actual seats.
Also fun.
We came to the condo to find that our land line's were not in service.
Our wifi only worked on the balcony.
And we missed the U.P.S. delivery of our hi-speed modem. Twice.
Needless to say, we were "un-wired" for a few days.
And truthfully, it was kind of nice.
My first order of business was running out to Old Navy to make sure the kids were set to patriotically greet our first 4th of July.
We spent it on Flagler Street where they closed off the roads, set up vendors and live music.
We walked around in the crazy crowds for a little while but didn't last long.
Just not our thing.
In the end, we watched the fireworks from a moving vehicle while driving around looking for somewhere to get ice cream. Story of my life.
As we get settled in, we're finding a new routine, getting accustomed to the heat and generally unwinding.
It is perfect.

Happy Monday!

  4. Dearest Susan,
You will have a great time down in south Florida! We just got home from there on June 11. Funny for the patriotic outfits that you got at Old Navy. You certainly know about the Sawgrass Mills Outlet, a heaven for such a family. There is so much to do in the area. Enjoy it and relax.
    Love to you,
    Mariette
