Favourites : A visit to Turnberry Isle

Each summer, our annual Florida vacation takes us to West Palm Beach. And, each year, we choose a different destination to visit within the state.
Last year, we spent time at Marco Island - highly recommend.
This year, my oldest, whose singular goal for the entire vacation was to get as tanned as humanly possible while wearing the strongest sunscreen I could find, wanted to go to Miami.
Something to do with Dash Boutique and a certain Kardashian family.

We decided to visit Turnberry Isle in Aventura, not only because it happens to be across the street from what may be the greatest mall in all of the world, but also for it's stunning property, on-site restaurants and incredible views.
We weren't disappointed.

Isn't it pretty?
The grounds were breathtaking, incredibly well-kept and there was lots for the kids to do including a fun pool area with both a water slide AND a lazy river.
Ava loved checking out the koi fish at the entrance - sadly, we missed early morning feeding but I'm sure it would have been so much fun for the kids. sleeping in was more fun.
We indulged in the breakfast buffet before our drive into South Beach and were so happy we did --seriously, one of the best I've ever had.
Choices galore, with literally nothing missed and a super gorgeous interior inside the on-site steakhouse which doubled temporarily as the breakfast locale.
I am ALL about the breakfast.
And this one was fabulous.

Can't wait to visit again.
I need a vacation already and winter hasn't even hit yet.
Le sigh.

  2. Dearest Susan,
That looks really like a great location!
Let's hope Izzy is not that serious about getting as much of a tan as humanly possible...
Anyone who does so in his/her younger years will pay dearly for it after 40 with premature aging and at times even worse with skin cancers.
Human skin is not maid for frying! And most sunscreens are bad chemicals for our skin as well. I know personally people that overdid when they were young and they look shocking at an older age... Is it worth that?! Tanning beds are even worse says our friend who is a dermatologist.
All of us get only once our precious 'Birthday Suit' and it's up to us how we will preserve it over the decades.
Hope you will find the stimulants for keeping you going through winter time!
    Hugs,
    Mariette
