I'll start by telling you that Izzy is desperately trying to talk us into changing the paint color in her room. Also know that we spent what I think is a small fortune to have it painted this way and that it's not happening anytime soon.
Before we made the change to this "older girl's" room, her room was even "pinker" than this. Full of princess this and that.
It was time for it to go and since then, we have begun to slowly incorporate more chocolate brown into the mix and add touches of different things she likes to truly make it her own.
I'm having the window seat pillow re-upholstered {all by nana} as we speak and am hoping to find a complimentary fabric for the curtains this week.
I'm thinking tie-backs on either side of the bay window vs just a valance which is what was there before but we'll see.
Can I just say I wish there were a Pottery Barn Teen nearby?
and can I also say a huge thank you to my MIL who brought home all of my online shopping at said store from Florida for me?

Wow!!! This is gorgeous!!! What a lucky, lucky little lady you have there! Yes, I'm sure with the coming of the teen years will come the desperate wanting to be grown up phase. I love the stripes. I thought of painting our bathroom like that:) you truly have a beautiful home Susan!! Xoxo
ReplyDeleteIzzy has a wonderful place to call her own. And as she continues to evolve from "girl" into the lady is becoming - I'm sure she will have many creative and fabulous ideas (after all her mama is super brilliant when it comes to style and decor - you know what they say diamonds stay close together..) Love the chocolate you are incorporating ~ gorgeous room. And what young lady would not love a window seat to sit read, dream and click away on their computer?
ReplyDeleteCheers mon ami.. have a great day... it's sunny here in the city - But cold! xo C. (HHL)
stunning! i want to add stripe to e's room just going horizontal and on one wall ;) pottery barn kids is one of my favs!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH, I love that paint. If she doesn't want it, I'll take it. She can have my room (it's white paint, lol). Not sure if hubby would agree (he's not into pink, hah!), but I love every single thing about that room.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! We had Avery's room at our old house painted like that, and it was my favorite room in the house - I was sad to leave it. I love how Izzy is incorporating "big girl" into the room.:)
ReplyDeleteLove the stripes and the floors! I would have died to have a room like this growing up. So pretty!!!

Dearest Susan,
ReplyDeleteIzzy can experiment with colors on different projects but I would not let her change this room. It looks gorgeous as it is; very well done. This is a perfect setting for having sweet dreams under the duvet. The window seat is a gem in itself and I would not cover that up much with any curtain.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
Adorable!

I love the room and all of the details of Paris - gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a beautiful room and I love that you're using pops of chocolate brown to make it a little more grown up!
