My baby boy turns Twelve

Here's very new here + had a plugged tear duct on his right eye. It eventually went away. I also notice that he has a tiny cut on his thumb. I did that accidentally when I was trimming his little fingernails. I think I cried more than he did.
I got pregnant with Julian when Isabella, our oldest, was just over 2 and a half.
I knew almost from the beginning that he would be a boy.
Don't ask me how...I just knew.
I remember a colleague telling me how different being a mama to a boy would be.
I'm not sure I wholeheartedly believed her until Julian was born.
And then, the pure craziness set in.
To say I was in love was an understatement.
I loved that child with everything that I was. I remember having this feeling of being about to burst whenever I would look at him.
I carried him around until he could walk.
I'm not kidding.
The neighbour's would always make fun of the fact that I always, always had him on my right hip. Regardless of whether I was taking out the garbage or just outside chatting.
Where I was, he was.
Florida, Ocean Drive, 2004
Julian and his big sister, Fall 2003. She loved him with all her heart but in every video we have she would say "see mom, I'm not even jealous". I think she might have been.
Who would ever have thought that one day, my sweet baby boy would be twelve? TWELVE.
It's funny how they do that. Grow up.
He is getting the tiniest of mustaches.
He will hate me for that.
When I mention it, he pretends to be rolling it on either side.
Can you picture that?
Because it is hilarious.
He is wearing deodorant. And taking showers before he is asked to.
This is big.
He drives me crazier than anyone ever has or ever will.
And when I try to complain, my mother in law always reminds me how crazy I was about him.
He is a mama's boy.
He is so spoiled.
And I'm afraid he will need a partner who is willing to accept him for the stuck in his ways, must do everything for him, ridiculously sensitive soul that he is.
Let me publicly apologize to his future wife.
Mind you, he tells me he's never leaving.
And I believe him.
Summer 2006 in our backyard. This is one of my favourites.
My two birthday boys, 2005. This was at Isabella's 9th birthday party and he insisted on trying to hit the pinata.
My husband's birthday is today, April 11th. I remember being late with Julian, 3 days I believe it was, and going in for an ultrasound. I was told the amniotic fluid was low and that I had to be induced immediately. He was born just 3 hours after we arrived at the hospital.
Sometimes I think if I had just gone in the day before, they would have shared a birthday.
Then I realize that both of my boys love their special day so much, I'm not sure either would be willing to share it.

Happy Birthday to my husband + a Happy 12th Birthday to my sweet boy!
I still want to cry tears of joy when I look at you.
Especially when you're sleeping. and not talking back.

  4. Dearest Susan,
Congrats to the two men of your heart! Precious photos with precious stories. Especially the small print to the very end... but very sweet!
Oh, that little cut in his thumb; I can cringe about it too.
You look so happy and beautiful at the beach and for holding Julian on your hip, you look like an Asian woman too. Very gracious and always holding him close to you. What a special bonding!
Sending you hugs and wishing for a special and happy weekend as a family.

  5. I am tearing up! I cannot imagine my Wee Man being 12! It all goes by so fast ** runs away to sob in pillow**
