This is 40 : Alison from Get Your Pretty On

Today's blogger just barely gets into the club having JUST turned 40 and is the youngest of the group. 
Alison and I discovered only this past year just how much we have in common. 
Both of us had longtime careers in the telecommunications industry {I'm sure we've crossed paths just never knew it}, are married with 3 children {both with 2 girls, 1 boy}  AND have a youngest daughter named Ava. 
Crazy non?
She is gorgeous as you will see below and just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out.

1. How has your style evolved since getting older?

It hasn’t really.  I’ve always tended toward classic pieces with fun trends added in each season, even as a teenager.  I’d say the only thing that’s changed is I go for comfort more now because of my "mom on the go" lifestyle.  Also, I don’t wear pencil skirts and heels much since leaving corporate America (although I adore them and miss them VERY much).  

2. Anything you would have worn when you were younger but absolutely wouldn't dream of wearing now?

Anything too revealing.  I think being covered is far sexier any day.  

3. Any looks you regret?

High waisted anything.  

It just doesn’t work on me, no matter what decade it is!

4. What do you know now that you wish you had known then?

That most things do get better with age.  I’m more comfortable in my own skin than I’ve ever been.  Confidence comes with age and experience.  The things that were so important in my 20’s just don’t matter anymore.

5. Who is your favourite 40+ inspiration and why?

There are SO many.  Almost all of my favorites are 40+.  Jennifer Lopez is absolutely stunning and just gets better with age. 

6. Best advice you would give to your younger self.

Wear sunscreen and just say no to tanning beds!  

Amen to that last one! If I could just go back and do one single thing differently, it would be to have known how important sunscreen is. 

Still trying to teach my european mother that truth.
