This week's prompt is rather timely as this afternoon, I am heading out to see a jeweller with a friend of mine who is getting her own bling redone for her 10th anniversary.
I'm so excited, it's almost like it's me!
I have always loved accessories.
I collect clutches and based on how many times I've shown a version of this Alexander McQueen boxed version, it's really the one that's missing. Sigh.
Over the years, I've learned that I typically prefer one statement piece vs lots of little goodies.
I like the idea of a large cocktail ring but never end up wearing one.
I still have a hard time mixing metals, so I don't.
I prefer large earrings with hair up.
I love to pile on the bracelets, but they never last long before I start slowly pulling them off.
And that I cannot can not sleep with a single piece of jewelry on.
Wishing you a good weekend!

ReplyDeleteDearest Susan,
ReplyDeleteYou are a smart and somewhat classy woman for wanting one statement piece versus lots of little goodies. Clever!
Well, I do sleep with some jewelry on... my toe ring; my ankle chain; my belly chain; all in 22 carat gold from Indonesia. Over there the ordinary people can't afford a bank account. You needed at that time to have half a million Rupiahs (or US 500) as a base and on top of that you could use the account. So what they do instead is buy gold, 22 ct or 24 ct and they exchange it for cash if needed for a wedding or any hinge moment in their lives. The value stays; it does not go down. Contrary to jewelry stores here, giving you only a fraction of the cost of your original piece of jewelry.
But having some jewelry redone is always special. Our Goddaughter Elvira used for their wedding rings pieces from her Mom, from her Grandma and also from me. That meant so much to me that we're melted all together in love.
Jewelry after all is the currency of love...
Hugs to you,
Mariette
