As i sit down to write this on Wednesday evening, my heart is full.
Isabella had her first french horn performance tonight; a Christmas concert at school.
It was amazing.
As part of the music program, each child now plays their secondary instrument in concert band versus the original instrument they auditioned on.
Not easy.
She has struggled.
I sense how frustrated she sometimes gets.
But she tries SO hard.
I see in her something I wish I had more of when I was in high school.
Drive. Determination. The always wanting to do better.
On Isabella:
Dress (worn as sweater) - Mexx
Skull Necklace - Urban Behaviour
Jeggings - H&M
Boots - Ugg
I am one proud mama this evening.

yeah for your sweet girl! I played the trumpet for like a day. it was so hard.lol. my husband plays the guitar and I ask him to teach me a song one day, he taught me one verse. hardest thing I ever did. that may or may not be that last time I ever played an instrument. :)
ReplyDeleteyou should be proud!
My son is a pianist, second instrument percussion. He's in college now, studying piano performance... Musical talent is such a special gift. I hope your daughter enjoys it throughout high school and beyond.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for Isabella! Of course you should be bursting at the seams proud, mastering one instrument is no small feat. Mastering two is AWESOME. Glad to hear she did well in the concert!
ReplyDeleteAs a side note, in the first picture, your profile and her profile end up side by side on the computer screen and you two look so much alike! :)
I love the sound of the French horn. Very difficult to play too...good for her! I play the piano, and still love the fact that I can enjoy it as I get older. She'll be glad she worked so hard, and will have it later;)
ReplyDeleteDearest Susan,
ReplyDeleteYou sure can be proud! Being young nowadays is not easier and for playing the French horn as her secondary instrument must have been quite a challenge! But it is a wonderful preparation for real life and they live through it and learn.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
