Diva Baby, Diva Nanny

I suppose it is only fitting that our little miss' new nanny is as high maintenance as she is.
I've known most nannies to be simple women.
They don't fuss about their appearance.
Our nanny asked for a mirror. A full length one preferably.
She asked me just last week if there was room somewhere to store her coats. As in plural.
This from a girl who arrived here from a country that has never seen winter.
She needed room to house all of her shoes. and boots.
She wears red converse.
And sometimes a (fabulous) big floppy hat.
Sunglasses? Absolutely.
When I asked her recently if there was anything she needed...
she asked for toothpaste.
Sensodyne specifically.
And almonds.
Walnuts.
Breakfast muesli.
And egg whites.
We should all eat as well.

Our nanny has a gym membership.
And works out.
Numerous times a week.
Because she thought it would be boring to just stay in every evening.
Can't say I disagree.
She is a bit of a diva.
And we like it.
Because she just fits.
right in.

  1. I can't say I'd be too surprised if she starts making appearances in your "What We Wore..." segments =) You can't blame the girl too much. After all she's just trying to measure up to her new and ever so fashionable and beautiful family ;)

  2. This was really funny! Loved the full length mirror line. Best of luck to your diva baby and nanny!

  3. This was so hilarious. You should give her a guest spot occasionally. Ellen does it with her housekeeper. Could be hilarious. I don't even get asked those questions here at home, maybe I should come be your nanny.

  4. "Sensodyne specifically." This is hilarious! I love it.

Thanks for entering the Joe Fresh giveaway on my site. And no, I'm not a Canadian, I think Joe Fresh just recently started becoming available in the U.S. By the way, did you know you're a no-reply comment blogger? It's an easy fix, if you want to change it, this post explains it well: http://www.pleasant-home.com/2010/12/so-exciting-less-no-reply-bloggers.html

    Have a great day!
