Oh, your Mama was and sure still is...Dearest Susan,
Oh, your Mama was and sure still is a fierce Mama with a BIG heart and protecting her family like a sacred thing.
When I was only in Kindergarden, I had to wear an eye patch (my Mom found me very pitiful looking when I was 1-½ years old and having to wear one, so she took it off!) for trying to correct my lazy eye. It didn't work out... should have been done as early as possible but without any information given to the parents at that time, how would my Mom know?! Sad fact is that I only can use one eye as the signals from the eye to the brain and back had not been established at the very critical early age...
But kids were so rude at that time, also because I wore glasses (silly looking ones) they constantly on the playground yelled at me: 'SCHELE'! Which is the Dutch word for someone looking askance... Nobody ever helped me and as the result I hardly looked up, very shy and timid and just hiding and being by myself. So I know that feeling too well!
Good thing that nowadays there is more attention to it, even though a sad fact that several teens have taken their lives because of such incidents.
Good for your Mom and good for you for standing up for the kids.
Hugs and happy weekend!
MarietteMariette VandenMunckhof-Vedderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877699174880945452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130827602574940223.post-76114495920384773892016-02-24T19:08:30.675-05:002016-02-24T19:08:30.675-05:00finally the world is standing up to bullies, for f...finally the world is standing up to bullies, for far to long, to many have quietly stood by.A Labour of Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14304618014183187948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3130827602574940223.post-47346288883276427412016-02-24T10:08:34.636-05:002016-02-24T10:08:34.636-05:00bullying breaks my heart and I love days like this...bullying breaks my heart and I love days like this. I also love the benches they've been putting in some schools for kids who need someone to sit with.
Kudos to your mom, let me tell you the heck I will raise if someone bullies my kids (or if I find out they're bullying).

Simply Shaunacey
Shaunacey Bonnevillehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06077747255394912420noreply@blogger.com
